ABOUT US

Islington Baptist Church belongs to a group of churches called "The Fellowship of Evangelical Baptist Churches in Canada." Within this association there are over 500 churches each holding to the same basic beliefs and practices.

In 1932, a small group of Christians decided to start a brand new church. After three and a half years of meeting in homes, this group of believers stepped out in faith and built what is now known as Islington Baptist Church.

Over the years at least twelve full time pastors and their families have served here.

Under their leadership many have been brought to faith in Christ and equipped for the service of Christ.

Today, Islington Baptist Church remains committed to carrying out what is called "The Great Commission." This commissioning is found in Matthew 28:18-20, wherein Jesus says: "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."

Pastor Todd and Sue have been serving together with their family and brothers and sisters in Christ since 1996. They are grateful to the LORD for what He has done and are thrilled with the church unity He has blessed them with. Along the way they have had the privilege of serving with many wonderful servants of Christ.

Alexandra is currently enrolled in Bible College at Tyndale University where she is completing her Master of Theological Studies. She has a passion for serving the Lord and feels called to serve Him in outreach and Children's Ministry. She is also a practising Registered Nurse in Toronto.
